In the meantime, I let the Synology devices handle the work. There is the option of using StarWind but in Veeam 10.0, it will support S3 directly. I also use Veeam for VMs and treat S3 as a VTL/ iSCSI device using the AWS gateway VM. I have either Synology devices syncing to S3 or Backup Assist going directly to S3. If you are using a NAS or newer device that supports Rsync, use that instead of setting up a VTL. I recall Veritas wants you to setup a VTL, unless they now support Rsync. Disclaimer: I hate Backup Exec since it became Veritas, again.
